At RedRox, we supply an extensive range of quarried, recycled, and secondary aggregates — including certified sub-bases and bulk fills — conforming to the Specification for Highway Works (SHW) Series 600 and 800 requirements. Our materials are produced and tested in accordance with BS EN standards to ensure full compliance and performance consistency.

Commonly specified products such as Type 1 (CL 803) and Type 3 (CL 805) are available alongside engineered alternatives to suit specific ground conditions, load-bearing capacities, and drainage characteristics. Selecting the correct sub-base is critical to achieving long-term stability, permeability, and compliance across highways, infrastructure, and general construction applications.

• Type 1 CL 803 – The most commonly used certified sub-base for highways and construction 

• Type 2 – Allows more fines between 16-1mm sieve 

• Type 3 – Permeable, SuDS-compliant material for sustainable drainage systems 

• Type 4 – (Asphalt arisings) Needs to have 50% or more Asphalt

• Series 800 Aggregates – Full compliance for highways and civil engineering
