Service: Emergency muck away & supply of concrete stabilisation blocks
The Situation
On Saturday 14th February, Redrox Quarry Products received an emergency out-of-hours call following a major railway embankment landslide near Worcester, between Droitwich Spa and Worcester Foregate Street.
The landslip caused a retaining wall to collapse onto the railway, closing the line and requiring urgent stabilisation works. The recovery involved removing over 1,200 tonnes of soil and installing more than 240 concrete blocks to secure the embankment and allow the railway to reopen.
Our Response
Redrox mobilised immediately to support the emergency works, providing:
-
Grab wagons for muck away, removing collapsed and unstable material
-
Supply of concrete blocks to stabilise and rebuild the embankment
-
Rapid weekend mobilisation, ensuring materials and services were delivered without delay
Our nationwide supplier network enabled us to source and deliver the required materials quickly, helping maintain progress on this time-critical repair.
The Outcome
Our rapid response helped support the stabilisation of the embankment and the wider recovery operation, contributing to efforts to restore the railway safely and as quickly as possible.
